Terms of Use

By making a booking with Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms & conditions. We reserve the right for employees to ask you to leave the slope if you do not abide by the details below. In such cases no refund will be given.

Bookings and Cancellation Policy

​

Individual Bookings

​

  • All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance.

  • Bookings can be made in person or over the phone.

  • Junior rates apply to under 16’s. Any customers 16 and over will be charged adult rates, unless customer can produce a Young Scot Card and are still in full time education.

  • Student recreational discounts are given on production of valid Student Card.

  • All rates include equipment hire but not clothing or gloves. These must be provided by the customer.

  • Please ensure that all participants are able to attend all dates within a block to ensure progress is obtainable. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting the remainder of the block.

  • Instructors will teach at the level agreed at time of booking i.e. beginner lessons must not have mixed abilities.

  • You are advised to register your attendance at least 15 minutes before your session time. If you arrive later than 10 minutes before your allotted time slot you risk forfeiting your session. If you arrive later than the beginning of your allotted slot you won't be able to participate and no refund will be given.

Individual Cancellations

​

  • Sessions cancelled with more than 48 hours notice will be offered a full refund or credit.

  • Any cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will not be entitled to a refund or credit.

  • Please be advised that our cancellation policy applies to all block lessons, 48 hours notice is required before the first lesson in order to receive a full refund or credit.

  • In the event that Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex has to cancel your lesson (adverse weather/safety issues) then a credit of 100% towards an alternative lesson or full refund will be offered.

  • Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex will not be liable for any compensation or costs incurred by you as a result of cancellation.

 

Group Bookings

​

  • Bookings can be made in person, over the phone, or via email.

  • All rates include equipment hire but not clothing or gloves. These must be provided by the customer.

  • Please be aware that there must be no variation in ability within each class booked i.e. no beginners within an intermediate group or vice versa.

  • Please ensure that all participants are able to attend all dates within a block to ensure progress is obtainable. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting the remainder of the block.

  • Instructors will teach at the level agreed at time of booking i.e. beginner lessons must not have mixed abilities.

  • All sessions must be paid by the day of booking, or within 30 days of receipt of invoice, whichever occurs first.

 

Group Cancellations

​

  • Sessions cancelled with more than 5 days notice will be offered a full refund or credit.

  • Any cancellations made with less than 5 days notice will not be entitled to a refund or credit and will be charged at the full cost.  

  • Please be advised that our cancellation policy applies to all block lessons, 5 days notice is required before the first lesson in order to receive a full refund or credit.

  • In the event that Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex has to cancel your lesson (adverse weather/safety issues) then a credit of 100% towards an alternative lesson or full refund will be offered.

  • Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex will not be liable for any compensation or costs incurred by you as a result of cancellation.

 

Spectators & Photographers

​

Spectators are not permitted to go on the ski surface. We advise all customers to spectate from one of our seated areas. Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex accepts no responsibility for spectators going onto the slope and reserves the right to ask any spectators to leave. Spectators are not permitted to use the area around the party hut unless they have paid for a party.

 

Photographic, video and other recording equipment

​

Photography within the Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex compound is only permitted with prior consent – please ask a member of staff for details. Please be advised we have CCTV throughout the complex for the purposes of crime prevention which complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. In addition, we may record your images for advertising and / or marketing purposes. It is sometimes the case that third parties including the press record images of events at Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex. In such circumstances notices will be displayed to advise customers of any filming / photography to be carried out where your image may appear.

 

Main Slope Use

Slope Code of Conduct

​

Your safety and enjoyment is our prime concern. We want to ensure that you have as much fun as you can in a safe environment. You should read the following slope conduct carefully as it is important for everyone on the slope: 

​

  • Please abide by the code of conduct.

  • Respect all other slope users.

  • Control your speed.

  • Always give way to skiers / riders below and choose a route past so as not to endanger or alarm them.

  • Leave plenty of space when overtaking.

  • Look up and down the slope before starting or entering on to the slope.

  • Always stop in a clearly visible place or, preferably at the side of the slope.

  • When climbing up or down the slope always keep to the side.

  • Respect all signage.

  • In the event of an accident everybody is duty bound to assist and witnesses should provide relevant information of any accident.

  • In the absence of negligence or other breach of duty, neither Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex nor its employees or agents shall be responsible for the death, personal injury or illness of any customer whilst upon the Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex premises. Where in our opinion we believe that a person may be causing a risk to the safety or security of the site or impairing the enjoyment of others, we reserve the right to remove that person’s Lift Pass and remove them from the premises. Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex reserves the right to change prices and services at any time and without notification.

Tubing Rules​

​

  1. Anyone participating MUST have listened to and understood the Tubing Safety Brief at the beginning of their session. If you arrive later than 10 minutes before your allotted time slot you risk forfeiting your session. If you arrive later than the beginning of your allotted slot you won't be able to participate and no refund will be given.

  2. Walk up the designated walkway to reach the top of the tubing slope.

  3. When you’ve had your go, please move off the slope so the next person can slide.

  4. Children aged 3- 5 must slide in their own little tube with an adult in a separate tube holding on.

  5. Helmets must be worn at all times.

  6. Listen to and follow instructions at all times and tell your tubing instructor if there is anything you don’t understand.

 

Clothing and Equipment

​

All technical equipment is provided free of charge as part of your recreational session. For safety and comfort, helmets, gloves, full length trousers and long sleeve tops must be worn at all times on the slope. We advise that you dress appropriately for the weather and bring a spare change of clothes if taking part in a lesson. Head protection (PPE UIAA Standard) is available from the Rental Desk and is required for all slope users. Helmets are compulsory for all users. All customers on any activity, all freestyle users, and anyone involved in any type of racing or race training must wear a ski/snowboard approved helmet. This must fit correctly and must be fastened at all times. All instructed lessons include complimentary use of technical equipment required for your activity. This includes skis and poles, snowboards, ski/board boots, sledges, tubes and helmets; all subject to availability. You are welcome to bring your own ski/snowboard equipment but there will be no discount on stated prices if you choose to do so. For health and safety reasons, only Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex sledges may be used. It should be noted that failure to return your equipment or hired clothing (skis and poles, snowboards, ski/board boots and helmet) we will charge the full amount to your payment card. Please ensure that you hand your equipment to a member of staff when you are finished with them. Please note: ski/board boots are not complimentary for sledging sessions.

 

Pricing

​

Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex reserves the right to change prices and services at any time and without notification.

 

Teaching

​

To ensure the safety of all slope users, only our fully qualified Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex instructors are permitted to teach or provide coaching on the slope or lifts at any time.

 

Personal Belongings

​

Unfortunately, we do not have anywhere secure to store personal items at the Complex. Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex nor its employees are responsible for any loss, theft or damage to valuables or personal property that belongs to any visitor whilst on the premises.

 

Gift Vouchers

​

  • All Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

  • Failure to contact us before your vouchers expire will invalidate your gift vouchers, no refund or extension will be given for expired vouchers.

  • Change will be kept as a credit on our system in a customer account.

  • Newmilns Snow & Sports Complex will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to gift vouchers and photocopies or voucher codes alone will not be accepted.

  • Please treat gift vouchers as if they were cash as the balance cannot be returned to you if it is lost or stolen.

  • Full details of all of our activities, prices and Terms and Conditions are available on our website.

  • If you have extenuating circumstances which prevent you from using your vouchers during the validity period, please call us on 01560 322 320 before your vouchers expire.
